1. What type of mask to use and why? Filtering half mask, isolating or full face mask?
For effective protection, use UNIX 1000/UNIX 1100 respirators complete with UNIX 303 P3 R D filters. As an alternative, use a filtering half mask with an efficiency class of at least FFP2. The difference between filtering half masks and isolating masks is that filtering half masks do not fit tightly to the face and there is a chance of microbes getting inside.
2. Is a filter with particle protection sufficient? Or do I still need gas protection?
Viruses and bacteria are not gas or vapor. They are present in the air in the form of suspended particles. Therefore, a particle filter is sufficient.
3. How long can I wear a filtering half mask, taking into account the fact that it accumulates bacteria and viruses inside?
Since microbes remain in the filter materials and multiply there, special treatment is needed to maintain the performance of half masks and filters. The possibility of such treatment is not provided in our products, as well as in products of other manufacturers in the Russian market. Therefore, if you use RPD in crowded places, for example, hospitals, shopping centers, subway, etc. – you should change them once a day.
4. Is it possible to clean isolating half masks and full face masks with something except for soap solution, for example, to wipe it with alcohol?
First, remember that alcohol does not kill all microbes and bacteria. Secondly, you can treat with alcohol all parts, except for panoramic glass of full face masks. Their glass is made of polycarbonate, which loses its transparency upon contact with alcohol.
5. Do filters lose their filtering ability over time?
Yes they do. Particles clog the filter fibers and their resource is depleted over time. We cannot say exactly for what period of time this will happen. It all depends on the environment, the frequency of breathing, dust content, etc.
6. What happens if you use expired filters?
You can use expired filters, but we, as a manufacturer, are not responsible for expired products. Storage conditions for such products are not always ideal: high humidity, damage of package, temperature differences, etc. These factors significantly reduce filter efficiency. The responsibility for all the consequences that you get after using such filters lies entirely with you.
